NEW Artistic Shoot!

Hello!  So your probably reading this to find out more about the upcoming artistic session that I am planning...
First off, you may be wondering what an artistic session is.  I do a lot of highschool senior pictures, family pictures, etc. and they usually involve the same flow.  And although I absolutely love photographing families, seniors, etc. it sometimes gets me in a creative rut.  By doing an artistic shoot, it allows me to break out from my normal sessions and to be more creative and take pictures with a certain theme that I have in mind.  Overall, artistic sessions allow me to express my creativity more (and gets me out of that creativity funk) because from start to finish everything is planning by me instead of doing what mom would like, etc.  Hopefully this all makes sense...

I've had this idea for quite some time that i'd love to do an artistic shoot that involved young women showing  natural beauty.  Of course as women our self esteem isn't always as good as it could be.  We seem to obssess more with our outer appearances than we should.  I want to do a shoot that shows young women that we need to love both sides...our inner and outer beauty.  I'm looking for as many girls as possible that will be willing to get infront of my camera WITHOUT makeup.  I know for some of you this may be a huge deal but with as much self esteem issues that girls deal with today (mainly in highschool) I want to show them that it's important to embrace your natural beauty.

So if your interested, here are the details below:
Date: Sunday, January 8th [If I get enough people interested I may open a second date as well]
Time: 3:45-sunset [Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to sign a release form]
Location: In Chino Hills but the exact location will be decided soon [you will be given directions once I decide on the exact location]
-Please arrive with no makeup.  Don't go crazy with your hair, try to keep it as close to your natural style as possible.  No jewelry.  Please wear a plain black, grey, brown, light pink or dark green shirt/tank top/spaghetti strap [No writing, logos, print, etc.].  Jeans of any color will be fine.
-These pictures will possibly end up on my photography facebook page, website/blog, etc.  You must be okay with that to participate in the session.  There will be model release forms for you to fill out at the session stating that you give me full consent to take your photos and use them for Brittney Hannon Photography.  If you are 18 or under and would like to participate, I can email you the consent form prior to the session and you must have a parent/guardian sign the consent form and then you will bring the form with you to the session.
-There may possibly be a videographer there documenting this session.  You must also be okay with the fact that you could be in an edited video that will be used for Brittney Hannon Photography.
-Each model will be photographed for about 5-10 minutes.  It will be a very quick session and of course there will be no cost involved.  If you would like to receive a copy of your picture[s], I will gladly email you picture[s] as long as credit is given.

If you'd like to sign up to be a model for this upcoming shoot, please contact me.

Thank you!

Every photographer has their "thing"

Every photographer is different and has their own unique style which is such a beautiful thing.  We all seem to have our "thing"...the thing that makes us stand out and different from everyone else.  I seem to have an obsession with shoes.  Not with me wearing them but with my subjects shoes!  Almost every client I've had a session with, I've taken a shot of their shoes.  It's out of the ordinary and makes for such a fun shot!  Here is a collection of shoe pictures from some of my past shoots..

Emotion

There is one thing that makes a picture truly amazing.  Sure beauty, creative poses, awesome locations play a huge part in making a picture great.  But, the one thing that really makes a picture speak to us is emotion.

Emotion: any of the feelings of joy, sorrow, fear, hate, love, etc.

As human beings, we feel emotion everyday.  Happy, sad, excited, discouraged, love, anger..the great part about being a photographer is that we get to capture these emotions with our cameras.  I don't know about you but when I look at a picture and the emotion displayed is sadness or sorrow, I feel that.  When the emotion displayed is joy and happiness, I smile.  It's a natural thing to be affected by other peoples emotions.  That's the neat thing about humans, we are very emotional creatures.

I love meeting new people, editing pictures, being creative during photoshoots, etc. but the one that I love the most is being able to capture the raw, unforced emotions of my subjects.  Here are some of my favorite photos that I've taken over the past year that show emotion..
